Slow Down Aging Naturally

One way you can slow down aging naturally. Let’s take a closer look!

An unexpected way to slow down aging naturally

Whilst many may do this for altruistic reasons, the giver can gain as much benefit as the person receiving it, enabling them to slow down aging naturally. What am I talking? Well, it is something you would not expect. Giving blood, also referred to as donating blood, or bloodletting. What has this got to do with aging? How does it slow down aging naturally? I am glad you asked! Let’s jump into it.

Firstly you need to understand how Lipofuscin relates to the aging process.

Lipofuscin

Lipofuscin increases as we age, it is considered cellular garbage. With age, mechanisms weaken. Hence, the oxidized proteins accumulate in cells. This causes tissue damage and deposition of lipofuscin. A key factor in aging.

Lipofuscin formation is actually strongly linked to excess iron.

In scientific terms:

Iron is released from metalloproteins during intracellular degradation. Interactions between H2O2 and iron lead to HO˙ formation, which facilitates a formation of cross-linking of surrounding macromolecules and finally lipofuscin.”

What does lipfusion look like

Lipofuscin is the name given to fine yellow-brown pigment granules composed of lipid-containing residues of lysosomal digestion. It is considered to be one of the aging or “wear-and-tear” pigments, found in the liver, kidney, heart muscle, retina, adrenals, nerve cells, and ganglion cells. Ref.

There are many changes associated with aging, in animals and humans, aging is a complex process involving many factors at different levels. However one thing remains consistent and that is the more cellular garbage that builds up the faster we age, decay and ultimately become diseased and ill before the ultimate end of death.

LF is a post-mitotic pigment traditionally associated with aging (“age pigment”) (Terman and Brunk, 1998). Recent studies suggest evidence that Lipofuscin is more than a bystander of the aging process, it may, in fact, play an active role in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease (PD), age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Ref

Why does giving blood or blood letting reduce iron (lipofuscin) and slow aging? What is the relationship?

Giving blood reduces iron levels and the amount of lipofuscin in the body. Less lipofuscin slower aging.

But let’s take a look at the net result of blood donation is simplistic terms.

Slow down aging naturally with better blood flow

A  high-sugar diet, smoking, radio frequencies, and other toxic electromagnetic forces, emotional stress, anxiety, high cholesterol, and high uric acid levels make blood thick.

All of these make your blood hypercoagulable, meaning it makes it thick and slow moving, which increases your risk of having a blood clot or stroke. Hypercoagulable blood contributes to inflammation, because when your blood does not flow well, oxygen can’t get to your tissues.

Also the birth control pill which many women take is known to increase the likelihood of a heart attack. This is in part due to increased blood thickness also called viscosity.

“Repeated blood donations may help your blood to flow better, possibly helping to limit damage to the lining of your blood vessels, which should result in fewer arterial blockages.

“What is clear is that blood donors seem to not be hospitalized so often and if they are, they have shorter lengths of stay… And they’re less likely to get heart attacks, strokes, and cancers.” Ref

Your body has a limited capacity to excrete iron. It can easily build up in organs like your liver, heart, and pancreas.

This is no surprise as it is the same places lipfusion accumulates.

In simplistic terms, it is dangerous because iron is a potent oxidizer and can damage your body tissues contributing to serious health issues. Cancer researchers have found evidence that bowel cancers are two to three times more likely to develop when dietary iron is too high in your body. Ref

High iron levels have also been linked to:

CirrhosisLiver cancerCardiac arrhythmias
Type one diabetesAlzheimer’s diseaseBacterial and viral infections

Women have a safety mechanism that is periods. This release iron in a monthly bleed. Once this stops happening iron continues to build up. This may be why postmenopausal women tend to be high risk as they do not have monthly blood loss.

Potential causes of high iron levels include:

Drinking alcohol and food together increases the absorption of iron

  1. “Cooking in iron pots or pans. Cooking acidic foods in these types of pots or pans will cause even higher levels of iron absorption.
  2. Eating processed food products like cereals and white bread that are “fortified’ with iron. The iron they use in these products is inorganic iron, not much different than rust, and it is far more dangerous than the iron in meat.
  3. Drinking well water that is high in iron. The key here is to make sure you have some type of iron precipitator and/or a reverse osmosis water filter.
  4. Taking multiple vitamins and mineral supplements, as both of these frequently have iron in them.” Ref
  5. Having the genetic disorder hemochromatosis

What are you current iron levels?

Firstly it is important to have your iron levels checked and follow the recommendations of Dr Merclola to stay in the safe range to enable optimum aging. If your iron levels are low then this would not apply to you.

The easiest ways to keep your iron levels at a healthy level is to donate blood. A good amount would be 2 times a year. Many blood donors go a lot more frequently than that. If your iron levels are high you will need more frequent bleeds, to begin with until your levels fall back into the normal range.

If you want to get your iron levels tested this company offers online testing in Australia.

Based on the research I have done this is a key natural and FREE thing you can do to slow the effects of aging and look after your health.

Slow down aging with the support of supplementation – Sisel AGE Pill

Also if you are taking supplements make sure they do not contain added iron. One reason I love Sisel is that they are aware of this and do not include iron in any of their supplements. They also produce a supplement that supports the removal of lipofuscin called the Sisel AGE Pill. This is a great supplement for the health conscious person worried about getting old too fast.

Previously in this article, we discussed how iron and lipofuscin causes free radical damage through the process of oxidized proteins. To combat free radical damage you may want to consider drinking hydrogen water.

If you are like me and are wanting to turn back the clock so you can feel like you did when you were 25 years old, then it is worth exploring every way you can turn back the clock and slow down aging naturally!
